Well, here I am, writing my second blog post! I told you in this one I would tell you all about myself. No, it is very easy for me to ramble on for ages when I talk about myself, so I am going to try to keep this as short as I can.
Let's see... I am a 22 year old girl who lives in Virginia. I have been obsessed with animals my whole life, especially with horses. I have always lived with animals and I can not imagine living without any. I grew up having dogs and cats (as well as a small assortment of small furry and scaly things throughout the years). I also got to be around horses a lot when I was young, because my grandmother rode and had horses. I took riding lessons all the time and loved it. Now I'm the proud owner of a horse, who I got when I was (soon-to-be) 13. He is a Belgian Morgan crossbreed, and is 13 years old now. I love him more than I love most people.
I also have an old Golden Retreiver (who looks more like some kind of mix of a grizzly bear, walrus, and dog). He is a big baby, I love him so much. He lives back with my mom. The animals I have with me are my 2 tabby cats named Jawa and Mouse (yes, Jawa as in the creatures from Star Wars), and 2 aquatic Red-Eared Slider turtles named Bowser and Squirt.
I'm a student, taking classes at Northern VA Community College. I am in my 4th year of classes there... yes, it is taking me quite some time to get through school... I kind of screwed up. I will go into my school problems in another post, but I will tell you that I think I am on my way to getting things taken care of. My goal is to be in George Mason University by 2015. I still have to decide what exact degree I will be going for there, but it will be theatre related (soft and hard tech design, directing, producing, acting, musical performance...). Then I will go to graduate school (probably an online school) to get my Masters in education. My career of choice (if you haven't guessed already) is to be a high school theatre teacher.
I have been involved in theatre since I was in the 7th grade. I reluctantly auditioned for a musical called "The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree" and landed one of the lead roles. I fell in love. I have not stopped doing theatre since then. I did 2 more shows in middle school, then 5 in high school. My senior show in high school was the last show I have acted in. I did some acting in my acting classes my first year at NOVA, and I took a role in a ten-minute play for the directing class, but that was it. Since then I have been doing tech pretty much nonstop. I started by learning how to work with theatre lights and running light board for shows, and that lead to also doing some work back stage, and now I do stage management sometimes, which is crazy, but I love it.
I work with a few different community theatre groups in the area, and (though it can very very hard, stressful work) it is amazing fun.
:)
Some other things I love are...
Cooking
Baking
Movie musicals
Singing
Photography
Geek culture
The internet
Swimming
and
Being around people I love ^_^
So, there's my little mini-bio :)
In my next post I will start getting into these problems I have... I think I will start with the school issue.
Hopefully some of you out there will relate to it.
We'll see!!
